As long as you may be open for suggestions :)  
 
Insaan with root (ا ن س) is someone who is comfortable, or friendly. The word in verse 5 is al-insaanu. Meaning; overall friendliness among people.  
 
Then we have the word Khalaq with root (خ ل ق) with means to design something new from existing material.  
 
Furthermore is the word dafiq (د ف ق) meaning to push something in order to help i on its way (giving a nudge)  
 
Hence vers 5 is asking people who live friendly and comfortable with each other to reflect upon how this friendliness got designed among them.  
 
Verse 6 is then saying that it has been created from pushed towards (or supplied) knowledge. In other words, the knowledge that made this possible is external aid which was provided.  
 
To comprehend verse 7, we must know the sense of words like Sulbi and taraeb.  
 
Sulbi is the "back bone" of everything on which the rest of the load is resting. You may say that it is the core of anything that is the main support of any structure. Since the word is specific, I would say that it is referring to the word At-tariq of verse 1.  
 
The word Taraaeb are different things with same values. Different people with same rights. Different stones with same weights. Ect. Ribs are probably referet with this word since they all have same shape. Except that here the word is specific.  
 
Hence verse 7 is saying that this knowledge that has made the friendliness among people, has come forth form between the main core and these same values. The main core on which everything is resting, is the message of Quran, while its verses are taraieb which apply to all kinds of people (jinn and ins) and give then same rights.  
 
And verse 8 simply says that it (quran, or its guidance) is capable to make man return to that standard.  
 
Now you may ask what standard we are talking about, and were did this “return” come from. The word Tariq (the name of the surah) means something that comes over and over again to leave an impression. In this sense Quranic guidance has been called Tariq that has come several times before and made people live with harmony, and is always capable of taking humans back to that standard.

(PS: As far as the traditional translation is concerned, those people really need to check their biology. The reproductive liquid goes not get exected from between the backbone and ribs. Besides that, both male and female cells are needed for this prosess, not only male.)

AA dear nargis, I have interpreted this surah as follows. It is clearly about divine guidance and laws of nature as to how Allah makes things work and the idea is that mankind should also be guided the same way. The things is that the quran is a divine constitution for mankind to form a good human society based upon it. This means people need to reach a stage whereat they could get on with each other as a community.  
 
 
It is a question asking man to look at his creation or development. It can be taken as a physical phenomenon or as a spiritual development or both. Because Allah asks man to look at how he is evolved and he is talking about secret mover so he is talking about things involved in human development biologically as well as psychologically at a level where people do not pay attention to them or observe them. They just live through life mostly uninterested in them so quran invites our attention to such things. MAA in here can be taken as revelation or as sperm and ovum and fertilization or something that drives human survival. It is involving both processes spiritual as well as physical that take man through various states or stages till one becomes a proper human in physical form as well as in spiritual form to be part of human social structure or skeleton on basis of the revelation/quran. In these verses quran is talking about biological science involved as well as involved social engineering and psychology etc.  
 
 
I have not yet finished my short interpretation of the quran so I have not yet started expanding it. Because after I complete my short version to my satisfaction I then intend to write all the necessary explanations that helped me reach this short interpretation. It is going to take some time. However I do post my articles every now and against to share ideas to provide wider context for looking at the quranic text. So I am not able to take much part in discussions.  
 
Surah 86 AT-TARIQ – The secret mover/worker  
 
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.  
 
[1] Behold the universe and the secret traveller/mover/worker,  
 
[2] and what will explain to you what the secret traveller is?  
 
[3] It is the manifest divine constitution  
 
[4] for every person there is security in the rule of Allah.  
 
[5] Let man observe and think from what he is evolved!  
 
[6] He is evolved from a part of a liquid that is moved appropriately for this purpose  
 
[7] proceeding from reproductive organs of a male and a female.  
 
[8] Surely as his creator, Allah has the right to set him the goal.  
 
[9] On the day things related to the goal become manifest  
 
[10] then there will be no authority for man nor any support save that of Allah.  
 
[11] Behold the universe which works towards its goal  
 
[12] and the earth which is open to business for serving its goal  
 
[13] surely this Qur’an is the ultimate standard for good of mankind to judge their works by,  
 
[14] so it is not something that man can be ignored without serious consequences.  
 
[15] As for opponents of Our advice, they are indeed busy plotting a scheme against it  
 
[16] even though I planned things for their benefit  
 
[17] nonetheless leave the opponents of My guidance to their own devises but soon they will taste the consequences of their own foolish actions.

AA Mughal. Thanks for kind words. I was considering to write down my understanding of these 17 verses as well, but before that, I wanted to understand your translation a little better.  
 
- Who is this night traveller in your opinion? You must have noticed that the word is specific, as well as the word you translated to universe. If this is so, then there must be many universes, out of which this universe is mentioned? Furthermore, the word samaawat is plural. So I guess that you mean all these heavenly bodies = universe.  
 
Then you say that this nightly traveller is the divine constitution. I do not see why the divine have to be something that travels in only the night. Please note that words like Saaqib and Najam are specific.  
 
Is then the topic suddenly changing i verse 4, and then changing again in verse 5?  
 
There is nothing that can be translated to male and female reproductive organs here. Also note that the word for "creation" is khalaq and not walad. In other words, it is about design and creation of something but not birth.  
In birth the properties of the maker gets transferred in the product. Hence that can’t be the case here. If we translate the words to be ejecting liquids here, then first of all, we can only refer that to the male, while a birth process require both male and female. Secondly, as I said, this process cannot be described with the word Khalaq.  
 
And apparently the topic seems to change again and again in the upcoming verses.  
 
Please do not look at this as criticism, since also I have often seen cases were I have to serve a detailed explanation after that I have presented a short translation. I am just asking if this also is the case here.  
 
Could you please help me see the red thread though all 17 verses and also eliminate the doubtful points I just pointed out? Thanks.

Mughal:-MAA in here can be taken as revelation or as sperm and ovum and fertilization or something that drives human survival. ***  
 
I wonder if there is a word for sperm in Arabic, why call it maa (water) coming from ribs backbone ( we know that's not true) when Allah meant to say sperm?  
 
What is the need to talk about biological science in the Quran, how will such information be beneficial to people who couldn't confirm it as true

Dear participants, Sister Nargis! If the sense /translation of Quranic term مَّاءٍ written in verse خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ is taken as per orthodox interpreters, then this is not something specific to only human being, rather, every animal is the product of same process of insemination. In fact this verse 86/6-7 should be read in the context of the subject of whole surah, which is describing the creation of human personality/development of society as a whole. Here in this verse this term “مَّاءٍ” means the revelation (wahy).  
In all verses at different places in Quran the “KHULIQA AL-INSAAN (الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ) DESCRIBED TO EMPHASIZE HIS PSYCHOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR/CHARACTERISTICS (read the verses 32/7,4/28,16/4,21/37,22/5,23/12-14, 30/20, 30/54,36/77), NOT HIS PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. AS WE KNOW IN PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN ALL ANIMAL KINGDOM.  
 
فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ = Now let man but think from what he is created (personality/society development)  
خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ = Created/ developed with the revelation which is tremendously fast to approach (the solutions)  
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ = the guidance could be taken out through its rigid (eternal values) and the details/constituents given.  
Sulb = rigid (muhkamaat)  
Dafiq = tremendously fast to approach.  
Traeb(plural of turab) = constituents.  
Maa = the revelation.  
Khuliq= To arrange with the available stuff.  
 
To be more cleared about the matter under question you have to go through the following verse (interpreted by Dr.Qamar)  
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِنَ الْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ مُضْغَةٍ مُخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ  
مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَنُقِرُّ فِي الأرْحَامِ مَا نَشَاءُ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُتَوَفَّى وَمِنْكُمْ  
مَنْ يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلا يَعْلَمَ مِنْ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا وَتَرَى الأرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنْبَتَتْ  
مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ  
 
 
1…,First thing to note is that people are doubtful about البعث . If البعث is translated for life after death then, People are not doubtful about resurrection. From primitive to most modern, from illiterate to highly educated society, nobody denies life after death and concept of judgment day is in everybody’s mind. (with exception of a very negligible minority who call themselves Atheist ). Then why the question of resurrection or life after death was raised .  
 
2…, The argument, against the doubt, starts with the word فا نا خلقناکم من تراب . That we created you from ground or dust (which is again disputable ) but taking it as such the next part of the verse starts with ثم  
 
 
The word ثم (Then ) needs some attention. There is no verb after ثم . The verb خلقناکم has been dropped to avoid repetition. This is called محذوف . The translation after putting the omitted word will be  
 
 
In fact, these are different stages of evolution of a society. It is not changing from one stage to another creation. It is not that human beings were created to start with by dust and then this dusty creature changed into NUTFAH and then it was changed into CLOT then it subsequently changed into LUMP OF FLESH .  
 
On the contrary these are the developmental stages of a society .  
 
To begin with the society starts developing from the primitive stage of hopelessness and desperation. Next the society does not go back to the stage of hopelessness but starts developing from the next stage that’s why word ثم is used . a developed society never goes back to the previous stage but it starts its development from the already developed stage .  
 
The next stage of social development is NUTFAH نطفہ which means that they are not hopeless but they still have vices in the society .  
 
Next the society develops from ALAQAH علقہ i.e. they tend to develop relations and adhere to the society .  
 
Next stage is of MUDGHA i.e. they have developed relations but still have fighting tendency of different nature i.e. the stage of have and have not.  
 
But next stage is of mercy and compassion where they find a place to settle و نقر فی الارحام  
 
ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلا The next stage of the society is of being young tender and still dependent  
 
ِفْلا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُتَوَفَّى وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلا يَعْلَمَ مِنْ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا  
 
And then you reach to your strength. And among You there is He who is rewarded fully, and among You there is He who is brought back to the miserable life, so that He knows nothing after having known.  
Now an example from our observation is put forth  
 
وَتَرَى الأرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنْبَتَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ  
 
and You see the earth barren, but when we send down water on it, it is stirred, it swells and puts forth Every lovely kind of growth.

AA dear brother shiraz and dear sister nargis., thank you both for raising the points that you have.  
 
As I have tried to explain in my articles, I think the quran is revelation of God for guidance of mankind and I have given some reasons as to why I think that is the case. For example, I find quran such a complete book of guidance that it does not leave out anything essential that mankind will ever need to know to exist as a good human society. It talks about an individual, it talks about society, it talks about mechanisms whereby individuals can come together to form a community, it talks about setting up administration for the management of community and its resources. In short it talks about all necessary aspects of each thing it talks about.eg individual, society, administration. A very complex book in sense of angles it covers and yet not that large in volume.  
 
It covers how to bring about peaceful revolutions based upon education in order to form a human community based upon the quran as its constitution. Things that even today billions of people find difficulty in understanding. This is why I find the quran far far ahead of human thinking.  
 
I rejected mullah interpretation of the quran because it does not represent the ideas the quranic text tends to convey or make evident to human mind. Had mullahs understood the quran we ought to have entire human society based upon the quran by today..I accepted sir syed's point that the quran is a rational book though there are a couple of things that need a lot more thought yet to be discovered but who said we muslim made much progress in this direction after sir syed? If anything mulahs instead of using his idea and exploring the quran further ran after him with their fatwas and thus wasted a lot of ummah resources in fighting the idea.  
 
Not only that when iqbal suggested the ideas that kings and their mullhahs have covered up the true concept of islam they also did the same. Islam is deen not a mazhab is a great point and ummah owes a lot to people like these. Our task was made easy by these two major contributors.  
 
It is now up to us the people of the ummah to prove to the world of mankind that the quran is divine revelation for purpose of peace for progress and prosperity of mankind.  
 
I found the connection between the first nine surahs of the quran fascinating. Surah one is divine proclamation ie Allah is introducing himself and seeking agreement of the mankind that they will not live by any rule other than the one told in the quran (a covenant between God and mankind) It gives us the purpose of the rest of the quran and the purpose of things that Allah discuses in the quran eg he talks about communities before us to tell us what happened when they implemented the divine constitution or did not implement the divine constitution. Leaving us in no doubt that peace is not going to be achieved that easily unless people follow the quran ie it is case of man travelling with map or without map from point a to point b..  
 
Here it is tiold why the quran must be understood and installed as a constitution because Allah created everything and and sustains it therefore by this right he has the right to advise people as to how to use what he has created for them.  
 
Coming to surah two, here Allah is telling us why people fight between themselves and can those fights be stopped. It is because the quran wants to unite mankind therefore it is telling us the reasons why people fight so that by removing those reasons people could be brought together. Then the quran brings in stories of past people ie what were fights between thenm and how they solves their problems.  
 
surah 3 is about individual and society. Here we are taught why individual is important and why society is important for our survival and example of bani israel is explained and we are told how past individuals were brought together as society. Again what problems face individuals and what problams face societies and what mechanism can bring solutions and so a community can came about.  
 
Surah 4, is all about setting up of communities and their administrations so that people could live as a community. Here again the quran explains what administration is and what community is and what mechanisms are needed to organise them in to an administration with subordinate administrations and their vertical and horizontal structuring and interlinkage for smooth functioning. All related things are discussed in great detail eg how to train people and what kind of people to choose for the task and so on and so forth. Then again stories of past people are told about the same thing.  
 
in surah 5 the need and importance of constitution is emphasised and related things are discussed. There end the organisational lessons.  
 
Next in surah 6 start lessons regarding progress and prosperity ie man is taught what is progress and what is prosperity and what are the mechanisms whereby all this can be done. In other words once you have an organised society then its target is set ie what it should aim for and how by working hard it can achieve that aim.  
 
Surah 7 is about reaching the heights of excellence as a society. Likewise sutah 8 is about producing surplus and having good economic basis as a community. After working hard society is told to bring together the fruit of its labour and then divide it into two main parts using one and keeping other as reserve for emergencies. Then it tells to split the part to be used into two ie one for distribution and other for all other purposes eg research and exploration for purpose of progress of society so that as society grows it plans ahead so that it is not overwhelmed eg reproducing more and than it can care for to put it simply. Surah 9 is about general amnesty ie people who fear islam take up arms against muslim society it and they are told that if they lay down their arms then they will have amnesty and become pat of community like everyone else already is.  
 
 
 
So you can see there is definitely a thread is running through out the quran and it is a very well organised book.which mullahs turned into mumbo jumbo.  
 
I think if we leave mullahs behind and get on with trying to understand the text in context of the quran that will be great. I know it is a very difficult task but reward is great because it brings internal satisfaction. Also if we managed to understand the quran in its own context then it could be a great service to humanity because this book has all the solutions man is looking for.  
 
Likewise take the end surahs. Say last surah 114, see how it bring us back to beginning.  
 
Surah 114 AN-NAAS – THE PEOPLE  
 
 
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.  
 
[1] Proclaim, I seek protection for the mankind against harm and destruction through the rule according to the constitution of the Lord of the mankind,  
 
[2] the sovereign of the mankind,  
 
[3] the God of the mankind,  
 
[4] from the prompting of the plotter against divine rule  
 
[5] who tries to raise destructive ambitions and harmful desires in the minds of the people against each other,  
 
[6] from among the influential people and from among the influenced masses.  
 
 
Here it is very clear that book ends with message that security of man lies in the book=constitution of Allah.  
 
This shows that entire book is very well interconnected and emphasising some aspect of same thing ie it has something to do with mankind and Godly constitution for it to organise accordingly.  
 
The same is true about surah 86. It too is telling us that entire universe works as per divine will and so should man if man wants peace, progress and prosperity ie a blissful life. Otherwise man can carry on and see what happens ie man will turn this world in to a hell hole for himself. Disorganised lives or wrongly organised lives are always in trouble. May Allah bless us with knowledge and proper understanding of his message so that we could benefit from it.  
 
 
As I said before, being very busy, it is not possible for me just now to take part in discussions but I am hoping that when I am a bit free then why not. But I will try and share my ideas as and when I can.

AA and thank you brother moazzam. Yes your explanation is very powerful indeen , I think the quranic text is covering things from different angles all at once eg from angle of practical life as processes and mechanisms as well as conceptual both scientific and psychological. It is a wonderful book. In short we ain't seen nothing yet.  
 
It deserves a lot more study than we humans have bothered with. Hopefully things are changing for the better in very small steps. We need a good interpretation to begin with that really does some justice to the quranic text that it really deserves.

A short interpretation of the Quran.  
 
THE QURAN THE DIVINE REVELATION FOR REVOLUTION FOR BUILING A GOOD HUMAN SOCIETY.  
 
SURAH 1 AL FATIHA=The Divine Proclamation for the mankind  
 
1) Proclaim! In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful,  
 
2) That sovereignty belongs to Allah alone because He is the creator and the sustainer of the kingdoms of the universe,  
 
3) The gracious, the merciful,  
 
4) The provider of the constitution for mankind to live by.  
 
5) Therefore O mankind declare that only to Your constitution we commit and through its help we will seek your sustenance,  
 
6) Therefore show us thereby the firmly founded way to peace and prosperity,  
 
7) The way of those whom you blessed with peace and prosperity, of those whom you did not let suffer indignation because they went not away from Your constitution.  
 
 
Surah 2 AL BAQARAH= The Conflicts and the Resolutions  
 
Proclaim, in the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful.  
 
1) ALIF LAAM MEEM.  
 
2) This is the constitution no doubt for peace and prosperity of mankind, in which is guidance for people who wish to protect humanity against harm and destruction.  
 
3) People who would commit to working for peace and prosperity in the land for the better future of mankind by means of implementing the divine program in order to open up the opportunities for the benefit of all by using all the ways and means of sustenance We have provided for them.  
 
4) So those who commit to working for peace according to that which is revealed to you and according to that which was revealed before you they are sure about the promised outcome of their actions.  
 
5) Such are the ones who are on clear guidance from their Lord and these are the ones who will attain peace and prosperity due to being free from inflicting harm and destruction upon each other.  
 
6)As for those in the land who commit themselves to inflicting harm and destruction on mankind, it is same for them that you warn them about the destructive results of their thoughts and actions or you warn them not they will not commit to working for peace and prosperity of mankind.  
 
7) Allah finds their arrogance covering up their ability to think about peace and their ability of responding to call of peace as well as their ability to see the need for peace therefore they will end up in great suffering in due course as a result of their own actions.  
 
8) Among the mankind there are people who claim, we are committed to working for peace and prosperity according to constitution of Allah for the good end result for the mankind but in actual fact they are not committed to working for peace and prosperity at all as is obvious from the results of their own actions.  
 
9) They just make attempts at deceiving masses regarding constitution of Allah as well as those who are really committed to working for peace, though in actual fact they deceive none but themselves and their own people but they realise it not.  
 
10) In their minds is destructive ambition to dominate others and Allah finds their this desire increasing rivalry therefore the result of their actions is grievous suffering because they deny to others benefits of working according to the divine constitution.  
 
11) When it is said to them, do not cause wars and destruction in the land they say, surely we are only trying to create peace and prosperity.  
 
12) Nay, they are creators of wars and poverty for sure as is evident from the result of their actions yet they admit it not.  
 
13) When it is said to them, give up harmful and destructive ambitions for exploiting humanity and commit to working for peace and prosperity like other people who are committed to working for peace and prosperity of mankind they say, shall we commit to working for peace and prosperity like the foolish. Of course, it is they who are foolish not realising the benefits of living according to the divine constitution because they do not really want to know about it.  
 
14) However when they meet those who are committed to working for peace they tell them, we too are committed to working for peace but when they are in private with their fellow conspirators against those who are committed to working for peace they tell them, we are indeed with you, we were surely pretending to be with those who are committed to working for peace.  
 
15) Surely in time Allah will expose their deceptions by results of their own actions and let them wander in their confusion like the ones blind or lost in darkness .  
 
16) These are people who have chosen to live in a harmful way instead of living according to divine constitution so their choice is not going to benefit them because they have refused to be guided.  
 
17) The likeness of their ability to choose and Our provision of guidance for them is like that of a person who lights up a fire for them to see but when it lightens up all around it, Allah lets them go by their own sight thereby letting them remain in the darkness because they refuse to see.  
 
18) They act like deaf, dumb and blind due to arrogance that is how they refuse to turn to guidance.  
 
19) Or the likeness of behaviour of some of them to Our guidance is like that of a people to the huge rainstorm from sky with periods of darkness, thunder and lightning. They press their fingers in their ears due to thunderclap for fear of death yet pay no attention to laws of Allah that are in action all around the opposers of His constitution.  
 
20) The lightning almost snatches away their sight of them. As often as it flashes for them they walk due to it but when it darkens for them they stand still. Had Allah meant to make them deaf and blind, He could have taken away their sense of hearing and their sense of sight. Indeed! Allah has set up laws for all things to work accordingly including mankind.  
 
21) So O you the people, live according to the constitution of your lord who has furnished you with ability of good conduct towards each other like those before you so that you could become free of harmful and destructive ways of existence.  
 
22 ) Who brought about for you the earth like a floor and the heaven like a canopy and sent down from the heaven water as rain whereby He brought forth fruits for your sustenance, therefore create not constitutions rival to that of Allah when you are made known what is good for you.  
 
23) Yet if you the opposers are in doubt concerning this peace and prosperity purpose based constitution We have revealed for the mankind through Our messenger then bring a constitution as good as this yourselves if you can. If you on your own cannot then invite all your supporters against Allah to help you do this and see if your doubting it can really prove true.  
 
24) However if you cannot do this and surely you cannot then think about the result of fire of hatred you are creating between mankind which is fuelled by some people through denying access to provisions for others, it is ignited by those who reject and oppose the constitution of Allah.  
 
25) Nonetheless despite opposition deliver the good news for those who would commit to working for peace and act to remove obstacles in the way of peace between mankind that awaits for them the blissful kingdoms throughout which rivers will flow of all that they would need and desire. Every time they will participate in that kingdom, they will receive the full fruits of their hard works therefrom. They will say to each other, this is how people like us received full results of their hard work before us, for they will be given results of their hard work just like them. Moreover they will have therein peace and prosperity loving people as companions who would be free from domineering mindset whereby people end up inflicting harm and destruction upon each other. Such like will be the people who will end up in such like kingdom.  
 
26) Surely Allah does not raise a people to such dignified life to be an example for others the likes of a mass pile of a people that is mentally dead, weak and mean but a nation that is far above that, so that those who commit to working for peace and prosperity know for sure that it is the proper example from their lord, yet as for those who ignore and oppose Our guidance say, what did Allah mean to convey by way of this like example? Thereby He lets many remain stray due to their mindset and thereby he guides many due to their attitude, however He lets stray thereby only such as have adverse mindset towards His constitution and destructive attitude towards mankind.  
 
27) Those who seek and conspire to move mankind away from the constitution of Allah after ratifying it, thereby seek discord in what Allah has commanded unity and they cause fights and wars in the earth. These are the ones who are in loss themselves and are cause of harm for others.  
 
28) How can you reject and oppose dignified life giving constitution of Allah, for you were a mentally dead people living aimless lives and He brought you purposeful life thereby? Moreover He lets you die a natural death then He will bring you back to life again and so you will return to Him to answer for all that you are doing.  
 
 
 
Surah 3 AALI IMRAN=People and Society 89  
 
Proclaim in the name of Allah the gracious, the merciful  
 
1)Alif Laam Meem  
 
2) That none is God but He Allah, the Living, the Eternal.  
 
3) He sent for you this constitution for a set purpose, confirming that which went before it, for He sent the Toraah and the Injeel before this as guidance for mankind and now He has sent this as the criterion and a standard for mankind to live by.  
 
4) Surely for such as oppose goals of Allah for the good of mankind there awaits a terrible suffering because Allah has set up a strict law for result of peoples’ actions,  
 
5) Nothing escapes laws of Allah in the earth or in the heaven.  
 
6) He it is Who forms your bodies according to laws of nature in the wombs of your mothers as He programmed the natural processes and phenomena. None is God but He, the Mighty, the Wise.  
 
7) He it is Who has sent for you this constitution which contains goals that are foundational for humanity, they are foundation of this constitution and anything opposite to that is illusionary and false. Despite this fact those who harbour harmful and destructive ambitions in their minds against humanity follow the opposite direction to these goals looking for ways and means to cause fights and wars between people, however none can make evident to people of knowledge their intended targets and motives save Allah. Therefore those well grounded in knowledge say, we commit to working for peace and prosperity of mankind on the basis of this constitution that only this constitution is from our Lord not other opposing things that people attribute to Him. Yet none will take heed save those who have Intelligence and use it to understand things properly  
 
8) saying, our Lord, let not our minds deviate from Your set goals after you have made them evident for us and grant us more knowledge from yourself for our peace and prosperity, for You are the grantor of bounties in abundance.  
 
9) Our Lord, only Your constitution is capable of gathering all people under one rule for a time there is no doubt about it, because following constitution of Allah never fails to deliver.  
 
10) Therefore those who declare war against installation of constitution of Allah, of no benefit at all will be for them their wealth and their children against advice of Allah. For they are the ones who fuel the fire of hatred between mankind so they are bound to fail.  
 
11) Their end result will be the same as that of people of Pharaoh and their predecessors who opposed installation of Our constitution, thus caught up with them declared law of Allah in form of consequences of their harmful deeds. Allah is strict indeed in enforcing his law of requital.  
 
12) Say to those who declare war against the rule of Allah, soon you will be overpowered by your own atrocities against each other and driven together towards hell you would have created for yourselves and that is a terrible state to be in.  
 
13) Indeed there is between you a clear ideological demarcation separating you into two factions arranged against each other in battle. One side is struggling for installing the constitution of Allah and the other fighting against it. To them both it appeared as if they have been opponents battling each other continuously. However Allah aided with His helps only those who works for it. Surely therein is a lesson for those who are insightful about laws of Allah that operate in the universe.  
 
14) People have been furnished with drives for needs and wants as regard communities and values as well as valuing things in form of piles of gold and silver and horses that bring them name and cattle and plantations. These are provisions for them in life of this world but the sense of properly benefiting from them rests on making use of them according to declared will of Allah the creator and sustainer.  
 
15) Say, shall I tell you the better way of getting and using of things than the way you get and use them? For those who work according to constitution of Allah for peace and prosperity of humanity there are going to be states in which will flow things of need and desire like rivers, wherein they will live in company of like minded constructive and hard working people for as long as they will live by His will because they will have achieved approval of Allah. And Allah is fully aware of those who serve His constitution in His kingdom.  
 
16) Those who say, our Lord! We indeed commit to working for peace and prosperity of mankind so remove from us all our self created ills and end our suffering due to the fire of our self created hatred between us.  
 
17) They are steadfast in purpose and true to their words in deed as well as take a stand for what is right with God and is good humanity and they work for the good of others to help remove ills from the society, and they waste no time but start working for removal of ills from society straight away.  
 
18) That is how Allah makes evident that there is no God but He and that is how bear witness as an example the people in administration of divine kingdom as well as those well grounded in knowledge standing firmly for justice. Therefore you should know there is no God save Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.  
 
19) Surely as far as Allah is concerned the main goal of this constitution is peace and prosperity for mankind. Any people who were ever given the divine books did not go against this goal but out of rebellion against each other amongst themselves after the knowledge had come to them by declaring wars against it. So those who declare wars against revelations of Allah should becomes aware that Allah is strict in holding people to His declared will by law of requital or resulting consequence.  
 
20) Yet if they do not accept this and instead argue with you baselessly say, I have committed myself fully to working for peace and prosperity of mankind as a goal set by Allah and so have those that support me. Then say to those who have been given the divine book but they did not read it to understand it properly, will you also commit yourselves to working for peace and prosperity of mankind along with us? If they commit to working for peace and prosperity of mankind then they too have followed the right course of action, but if they turn back then your responsibility is only to proclaim declared will of Allah. And Allah is watching all that mankind do and face the consequences of their actions.  
 
21) So tell them about the law of grievous consequential suffering for those who declare wars on Allah’s revelations by fighting against the Prophets without any justification and even kill those among mankind who campaign for peace based on social justice.  
 
22) Such are the ones whose deeds are void of any good for mankind in this world and in the hereafter because they are not supported by constitution of Allah.  
 
23) Have you not seen the behaviour of those who were given the divine book? When they are invited even to their own book of Allah for settlement of disputes between them, a group of them then turns back thus they decline unity for peace and prosperity even among themselves.  
 
24) This is because they claim the fire of sectarian hatred between us will only last for a limited number of days. Thus deceive them their make beliefs taught to them by their priests in the name of God about the divine law of consequences.  
 
25) Regardless what they say or do you keep drawing peoples’ attention to the time in coming of which there is no doubt that how they will benefit when We will gather them under Our constitution whereby each person will be rewarded fully for what one would have earned and there will not be done any injustice to anyone whatsoever?  
 
26) Say, O Allah! Sovereign of the Kingdom of the universe, You give authority in the kingdom to whoever works towards it and you take away the authority in the kingdom from whoever fails to work to hold on to it, You bestow dignity upon whoever works for it and let fall into disgrace whoever fails to work to hold on to it. In Your rule of law rests whatever is good for the mankind. Surely You have set laws to govern operations of all things.  
 
27) That is how You rotate the zone of the earth under darkness for the night to bring it under the sunlight for the day and that is how You turn the zone of the earth under sunlight for the day to bring it under the darkness for the night by laws of nature, thus by same laws of nature You bring forth living nations from the dead and likewise You let lively nations decline into the dead as a consequence of their lack of consistency in the effort for progress and prosperity and likewise You provide sustenance in abundance for anyone as You declare in your revealed will.  
 
28) Let not those who claim to be committed to working for peace and prosperity of mankind therefore form alliances with those who are warmongers instead of those who claim to be committed to working for peace and prosperity of mankind, because any people who do that will lose the peace and security offered by rule according to constitution of Allah even though you may enter in peace treaty with them if they so desire as a measure to prevent open hostilities. Nonetheless Allah Himself reminds you that your goal must remain installation of constitution of Allah.  
 
29) Say, regardless you conceal what is in your minds or reveal it, Allah will make it evident in due course. For He makes evident whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth through its working. Allah has set laws for all things to work accordingly.  
 
30) The day when every person will be confronted with whatever good one would have done for others one will be satisfied, but as for one's inflictions of harm and destruction upon others, one will wish there was a very long distance between him and his deeds. Allah cautions you to be consistent with His constitution. For Allah is full of kindness towards mankind.  
 
31) Say if you claim to be loyal to the constitution of Allah then support me in my mission to install the constitution, Allah too will support you by His constitution, because thereby He will free you from all your problems. For Allah is graceful in showing mercy.  
 
32) Say, be consistent with constitution of Allah and in supporting His Messenger, but if they move away then Allah supports not those who oppose His constitution.

Dear sister nargis, everything the quran talks about is for educating people by drawing attention of man to things he normally does not think about. The purpose is to raise his level of thinking and thereby he is encouraged or urged to explore his world ie look at himself then beyond himself. It is a matter of act locally but think globally. Since science is also part of the real world so it also brought in to view to urge man get up and go. You probably know iqbal's sitaroon se aage jahan aur bhi hen.  
 
As for reproductive organs, this need a whole lot of explanation. It is because we need to remember that languages existed long before books of grammar and dictionaries and these books are based upon the derived meanings of the words from the existing words as per understandings of the authors of the books. Since a text has a context and if context chnages then so does the meanings of the world hence new meanings could be derived from the same texts. Since in tyhe quran God is talking about things from his point of view and man was not as well informed as he ought to to understand what God wanted him to understand therefore man put in his boks whatever he made of the text as per his understanding of it. This development or evolution continues. Example, take words like sahr or jin and see what people made of it and what it really means when we look at people's explanations critically. Likewise when man was not developed to understand complexities of life the message was still the same but he understood it as per his understanding and today man takes the same message in a different sense much like a baby compared to a grown up man. babies look at the world around them their way and grown ups their way. likewise uneducated look at it their way and educated their way hence dictionaries are not the final word nor the books of grammar but the original text from which these sources have been derived. Since the quran is in its original form in our hands and the real world realities out there are still the same ie they work as they used to so we need to see how it all makes sense and then modify other information according to it. Remember the argument whether it is the earth that is centre of our world or the sun. The earth is centre of our word because we live on it ie it is centre of our attention but in sense of location of the earth within the solar system the sun is the centre of the solar system and all the planet orbit around it. Moreover dictionaries are always updated even with new and better definitions of the very same words because they are understood better by later generations because they are more developed.

AA everyone, just further explanation for Surah 86 verses 1-3,  
 
a) In verse one it seems Allah is speaking about the changing or evolving or moving or lively or active universe and the cause behind it or for it that is pushing it or urging it onwards as if the universe is set some ultimate goal to arrive at.  
 
b)the question raised in verse two depends upon what is cited as evidence in verse one.  
 
c) In verse three the cause is revealed ie divine will or plan or law or goal or something that guides the universal change as a clearly set target..  
 
d)In verse four it is now turn of humanity and it is told that it too is following the same divine will and evolving as per divine set program. The evidence is pointed out that look at what you were and what you are as a result of this evolution ie just like the universe you too are following the secret divine will that is manifesting itself as you see it ie like universe God set target for humanity as well in two different ways. One that people are brought to existence and are evolved biologically as well as psychologically but the other target is conscious target ie islam and quran are given as goal and guidance and people are given the freewill to follow or not to follow the divine will and face the consequences of their actions. This target is getting people together for goal of peace and so that by coming together and cooperating they could progress and prosper and rewarded in hereafter as per whatever they deserve. Awards will be granted to people just like people get certificates after completing their studies or if they have done anything for others they award them with appreciation in recognition of their services.  
 
This is why people must avoid making life hell for others because this is going to cause probelms for them in hereafter as well. So where is sense in losing the sight of benefits for working together in here and in regreting the causes of loss in here in hereafter?

Dear sister Nargis, thank you for raising the questions to give me opportunity for further explanation.  
 
My view is that divine scriptures contained some information that mankind could understand and some that mankind could not at any particular given time. It is like we humans do not know anything when we are born but as we start growing up we become more and more aware of things, likewise although information was given the sense to understand was yet to evolve and develop with time. This is why to expect a human baby to know the quran straight away would be as silly as to expect man living in caves to imagine landing on the moon one day.  
 
This is why all the information told in the quran was not for total verification right away but whatever stage of knowledge humanity reaches will find the information in the quran in concordance and not contradictory to its findings. In other words as humanity develops the information in the quran will become more and more confirmed and properly understood.  
 
As for the information not understood at any given time, that does not affect the quranic authenticity because it is neither for nor against. So long as the quran does not contain anything that shows that the quran contradicts itself or that it contradict self evident facts, there is no proof against the quran that it is an invalid statement or testimony. This is why interpreting the quran properly is very important because we should not deliberately cause contradictions within the quran or between the quranic statements and self evident facts and realities of the real world. If we do that then effectively we will be proving that the quran is invalid and not word of God. The possibility of human error in interpreting any information can never be 100% eliminated so the case is not any different for the quranic interpretation.  
 
The rule is simple that so long as it is possible to show that a testimony or statement does not contain anything to invalidate it, all claims against it are invalid by default. This is very important rule to remember always. A case is only proven against its claim when the claim fails to offer any straight forward verifiable explanation. So long as there is a valid explanation possible to accept any other explanation is incorrect because that will be breaking the rule or convention. Likewise it is up to the accuser to prove his allegation against the accused and so long as evidence offered by the accuser is consistent, the allegation will be proven despite the fact that accused is innocent till proven guilty and the benefit of doubt goes to the defendant. Likewise to provide evidence and to prove the claim is up to the claimant.  
 
For example, the quran claims to be word of God and it is up to the quran to make a valid statement proving itself what it claims to be. So the quran is a valid testimony because when looked at with all known facts, nothing wrong is found in it. Each and every testimony can only be examined as far as its related facts are verifiable one way or other ie true or false. Facts not known yet or not yet discovered do not invalid the testimony. Again this is the usual way of doing things.  
 
If at a later date after decision some more facts become known the case can be re-examined and if the new facts do not go against the old decision then same decision remains valid ie no change of decision results.  
 
 
 
The other point is about word MAA=water, fluid, liquid etc. The quran uses metaphors for real world realities and the major advantage of metaphors is because you can kill two birds with one stone. Such expressions convey more than one objective real meanings at the same time. Metaphor does not mean ambiguous meanings to confuse the issue by way of turning real things into unreal as it is usually taken to mean. The quran uses metaphors to highlight more than one aspect of something or more than one thing. It is used in sense of likeness of real things to real things, not real things to non-real things. For example, the quran takes people from darkness to light. This is a metaphorical statement but it is true by its effects that it has on reality of life and the world. Just like real light takes away the darkness for people so that they can see where they are going, so the quran is light in sense of ideology that sets for people goal and terms and conditions to stop them living in the world wrong way ie running about like headless chickens.  
 
So word MAA contains sense of life giving water ie the basic part of of seed of life. Without water there is no sperm or ovum and likewise without revelation there would be no goal or set direction for humanity to follow or without revelation there will be no peace ie it will be war, so there will be instability and loss of life instead of peace and security for life to flourish. It is revelation that prepares people mentally or ideological to be proper human beings. Had Allah mentioned word for sperm here then he also had to mention ovum and then revelation as well. So one should be able to see how Allah limits the text to minimum without cutting down essential information or the message. In fact if we look at end surahs, one word is used to covey a whole concept. It is an accepted fact that words have different meanings dependent upon their the purpose they ar suppose to serve eg even mullahs have been redefining dictionary uses of words into shariah meanings to convey their shariah concepts or mazhabi istlahaat. Likewise words could be rendered in various ways including for constitutional uses and scientific purposes. It is part of evolution or development of humanity and its way of communication. So metaphoric use of words is very handy if you want to convey more than one aspect of the same thing or more than one thing using the same expression.  
 
Moreover we are all humans and prone to errors and we learn from each other so if someone tells us something one way and we are not happy with it may be someone else is capable of better understanding and so that person can always jump in and express the same thing in yet better way. After all some lawyers are better at arguments than others just as some doctors are better at their job than others.  
 
In dictionary word NUTFAH=sperm but in quran the words NUTFATIN AMSHAAJ are used in 76/2. Such verses can be interpreted as stages of human origin and development biologically as well as human social progression from individualism to society etc etc. It is because in quranic text there are a kind of parallel concepts. We have only recently started on trying to understand the quranic complexities and sophistications so it is going to take time to properly understand the quran. Rulers and Mullahs took ummah in a totally different direction that has caused a huge loss of good teachers of quran and islam so if we are confused here and there about the quran it will be sorted out as more and more people gain education and look at the quran afresh.  
 
As for your point that why do we need biological information in the quran when people could not even confirm it. The point is the humans did not know anything they needed to be taught even how to organise into communities properly. This is why the quran is important because even in this 21st century after landing on moon and sending probe to mars we are still living like animals with each other. Somebody needs to tell us where we are and where we need to be and how can we get there to be safe and secure. So the quran is as informative in sense of revolutionary text book, as a manifesto and as a constitution as well as an explanation of various other things, after all it is telling us to conquer the universe for the benefit of mankind.  
 
This is the man reason I refuse to accept the quran just a simple book that any man could come up with, rather it is very sophisticated yet very simple because it is follow rules of wisdom, so anyone who lacks sense of rules and organisation would find the quran disorganised jumble of words that make no sense. It is like an illiterate person looking at a book, what does he see there? Just blots of ink in different shapes and sizes. So this book needs people who can think for themselves and are well aware of rules employed in it so that they could decode it for those who are not able to do that themselves yet..  
 
Hope this explanation makes some sense but if it does not it is because I am not aware of how you look at the quran therefore I cannot comment unless you are willing to share your thoughts for us to learn from.
