Salaam Iqbal Bhai.
Bahut Shukriya for your kind words. I am taking it quite slow but yes I am learning The Urdu Language. I have gathered quite a bit of study materials including the Urdu-English Dictionary by Feroz Sons (Thanks Sister Maniza for suggesting it to me). I am particularly concentrating on acquiring sufficient "reading comprehension" since that is the area that is most appropriate for my reasons of learning it. It is my hope that I would be at least on the level of 5 on a 1 to 10 scale by the time Dr. Qamar Saheb's translation is complete and I would love nothing more than to be of assistance in any translation efforts from Urdu to English.
The reason I am taking it slow is because I am doing this while simultaneously trying to further my knowledge of the Arabic Language. When it comes to the really deep intricacies of the Arabic Grammar, Dr. Qamar Saheb has proved time and again that he is basically a walking grammar book. I am trying my level best to get to where he is. NOT to try and rival him or to be able to say I know as much as he does (because I feel that I cannot accomplish any of that even if I tried), but because I want to be in a position to be a more positive contributor to Aastana's goals. I cannot do this if there are still holes in my Arabic learning. We as Aastana students and representatives need to be able to go over the Quran with a "fine tooth comb" if you know what I mean. When it comes to studying The Quran we must not be content with merely snorkeling. We must equip ourselves to go "Deep Sea Diving" and put ourselves in the best possible position to explain Dr. Qamar Saheb and Aastana's Quranic Research and Discoveries.
Even without knowing Urdu I am still very, very, VERY appreciative of what I have learned so far from Dr. Qamar Saheb, Moazzam Islam Saheb and the remaining Aastana team. Thanks to Aastana I was able to take my studies to a higher level from what I have learned from the teachings of Allama Parvez and the Tolu-e-Islam group and I feel that I have gained enough from Aastana to continue to dig deeper into The Quran and derive appropriate Sociological guidance from it, taking a clue from the study methodology of Aastana.
Sister Nargis had once said something that I think hit the nail on the head. She said It is very easy to decide whether something is according to Quran or not. Just calculate and OBSERVE THE RESULT of the act. Quran will never tell you to do something which does not produce any result FOR THE BETTERMENT OF HUMANITY/Human Beings. I think she was spot on when she said this and this is obviously a small (yet very significant) component of Aastana's study methodology.
You are correct; slowly but surely light does fade away the darkness and as they sometimes say "The Darkest Hour Is Always JUST BEFORE DAWN".
Allah Hafiz,

SALAMUN ALAIKUM! Can any one explain, الست بربکم.... in sura Al-Ahraf ayat 172. When is promise was taken and by whom? A delebrated reply is required because I could not understand that I made a promise when I was not existed. Question by: shaby From PAKISTAN (KARACHI) On 24/12/2013
