1.2/259 As is known in history, after the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, the Bani-Isr’ael lived in captivity for about a hundred years. Then they were liberated and re-established in Jerusalem. This story has been narrated in the Quran symbolically as follows: A person passing through a ruined habitation asked if such a devastated place could have new life. Allah kept him in a death-like state for a hundred years, then gave him new life and asked him: “How long have you remained in this state?” He replied: “May be a day or so.” Allah said to him: “You have been in this state for a hundred years but your food and drink has not gone bad and your ass is still standing as before. You should also reflect upon the process by which man develops from the embryonic state to where he becomes a living human being.”
2/260: Each Nabi has been confronted with the problem of giving life to a dead nation. For instance, Abraham faced such a problem and said to Allah: “What is the process by which new life may be infused into a dead nation?”. Allah asked him: “Do you not believe that dead nations may receive new life?”. Abraham said: “I do believe but I would like to know by what process, so that I can undertake it with full confidence.” Allah explained the process to Abraham through an example. He said: “Take four untamed birds. At first they will seek to get away from you. Make them familiar with yourself gradually. This will bring about remarkable change in them. Even if you set them free and call to them, they will come to you swiftly.” This is how you must patiently reform those who rebel against your call and bring them close to yourself and make them understand and appreciate the Divine System. This is how they will receive “life.” Most certainly Allah is All-Mighty, Wise.

4.Dear brother Alam,
According to Allama Pervaiz, these are two names. One for a kind of desert vegetable and the other for a bird that came in flocks and was an easy prey for the Bani Israelis food, during their desert wandering in the Desert of Sinai. However, modern researchers have proved that Mount Sinai was not in the desert of Sinai but somewhere in the northern part of Saudi Arabia, where Bani Israelis stayed on for the most part of their exile and before finally capturing Arz-e-Falastine under the command of Joshua (Prophet Al-Yasa'a).
I am not yet aware of Dr. Qamar Zaman's explanation of these two words.
God bless you.

5.Dear Brother Alam, God Bless You,
من has the root letters of م ن ن which means to confer benevolence , to benefits some one, to oblige,
سلویٰ has root letter س ل و means satisfaction, to forget something, contentment, remedy against grief, happiness, pleasure
When the people of Moses (موسیٰ )were in trouble they were pacified with divine benevolence and they were satisfied with the remedy and pleasure provided.

7.الغمام is from غ م م meaning cover entirely, fill with sorrow,
وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى
We found them fully covered filled with sorrow so we bestowed upon them with احسان and obliged them and relieved them of their grief
It is the time when pharaohs were constantly causing problems for Moses and his people, so God very kindly relieved them of their grieves. In verse 80 of Sura 20 a word is used جانب which commonly translated towards, but if you study verse 56 of Sura 39 you will find the meaning of جنب different from usual .
أَنْ تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَا حَسْرَتَا عَلَى مَا فَرَّطْتُ فِي جَنْبِ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِينَ
The translation here is Allahs commands i.e. جمب means commands
The verse is
So the translation is:
O Bani Isreel we saved you from your enemy and promised you the divine commands and bestowed upon you with احسان (obliged you with kindness ) and relieved you of your grieves.
جانب commands
الطور manners ways
الایمن means to be august
I hope the myth of mountain toor is out now.

8.Dear Dr. Sahib,
Great and brilliant.
Mythologization of Islam was so deep-rooted and all-pervading that every new discovery, thanks to your efforts, alters the concepts radically and fundamentally. I congratulate you on your hard work and pray HE keeps you fit and in the best of health. I feel that the Almighty is actually bringing all of us "from Darkness into LIGHT".
You have taken us, aastana participants, far ahead in the realm of Quranic understanding and its divine wisdom.
I believe history's most rational and most dynamic Quranic tafseer is in the making, that would revolutionize the hithereto mistaken ideology of Islam, in the days to come.
God bless you.
